Sri Lanka Labour party plans to become the third place of the Presidential race

Sri Lanka Labour Party plans to become third place of the Presidential race on 26th of January and wants to pressurize ruling party to solve grievances of the workers of Si Lanka.

 

Its Presidential candidate A.S.P. Liyanage says within next ten years their party could obtain parliamentary seats to represent country’s  labour force .

Speaking to media he said the country needs economic management to reduce cost of living .

“We need better tomorrow through the peace , said  Liyanage who also an entrepreneur in Sri Lanka .

Speaking on executive president concept he said it is the best tool to develop the country. Mr.Lee Quan U used this system to develop Singapore. USA also uses Executive Presidency and most of countries use this system to develop their countries.

“If the Executive President is going a wrong way the Opposition has a duty to correct the President, he said.

Responding media he said Sri Lanka ended the gun culture.

“Now the time is to develop Sri Lanka and understand people’s pulses on peace.  This presidential election is most favorable to President Rajapaksha  and he is the suitable candidate to rule the country , he said.

Sri Lanka  could end the terrorism in last year. However after six months some political parties are looking pretty party politics to grab the power. They want to  defeat Mr. Rajapaksha , he said .

Mr.Liyanage proposes very flexible ideas to help the University students  and said the government must provide loan facility to buy computers .The Mahapola scholarship  payment should be increased by another Rs;2500.00 and all university students must receive free food and lodgings from the government.

He said media also lacks facilities .They need  a sufficient salary, a pension, housing and other needy facilities .Media  helps all political parties to become popular. But they never talk about their grievances in public.

Media raised questions about election violence in the country .He said   the government is responsible to maintain law and order to hold a violence free election. Displaying cut outs , pasting posters and holding political rallies are unnecessary things .”I love environment. Then I never use these things  to obtain

 votes, he said.

Mr.Liyanage said his party will contest the forthcoming general election and hopes to tie with foreign labour parties to become a strong political party .

“We are the only party who represent the labour force in Sri Lanka , he said.
