Mahinda’s popularity dwindles by 31% in 19 days – ‘Dinamina’

Popularity of Mr. Mahinda Rajapaske has dwindled by 31% in 19 days points out ‘Dinamina’ newspaper. A news item published by ‘Dinamina’ on 30.11.2009 stated Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse would win the presidential election by a margin of 93%. The newspaper stated that this was revealed in a survey conducted by Dr. K. Karunatileke of Kelaniya University.

Meanwhile, today’s ‘Dinamina’ states that the President would receive only 62% of the votes. According to ‘Dinamina’ this figure has been obtained by conducting a survey in nine districts where UPFA received less votes than other areas. As such, the government has accepted that Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse’s popularity has come down by 31% in 19 days. There are 31 more days for the presidential election.
