The National radio marks its 84th anniversary today.

It has  three  Sinhala channels   , two tamil channels and an English channel  .
SLBC has the first children radio  channel as well.  SLBC Archives  is the 
largest electronic library in Asian region. SLBC also   broadcasts its services
via internet and  satellite technology.
Issuing a felicitation message for the 84th anniversary Senior Professor of 
Chandrasiri Rajapakse says national Radio renders a yeoman service to the nation
 as an example to the  other electronic media.
Prof.Sunanda Mahendra says SLBC broadcasts quality programmes  to cater to the
needs of all categories of the society.
